A Journey of Transformation and Healing with Sacred Plants and Andean Wisdom

Welcome to this spiritual retreat in the marvelous Sacred Valley of Peru, an extraordinary experience designed to help you reconnect deeply with yourself, Pachamama (Mother Earth), and the ancient Andean traditions. This transformative journey combines ceremonies with Sacred Plants such as Ayahuasca and San Pedro, along with the wisdom of Andean Cosmovision and native peoples, and the natural beauty of the region, as well as the mysteries of the ruins of ancient Inca civilizations.

THE INTENTION

This retreat, thanks to the various shamanic ceremonies we will take part to, aims to illuminate our shadow areas and transform us completely. We are composed of conscious and unconscious mind, and it is important to understand that our conscious mind comprehends only 5% of our reality, while the unconscious mind encompasses the remaining 95%. For this reason, many of us end up living our lives on autopilot, having integrated our traumas (small or big) and external conditioning over the years into automatic behaviors and beliefs that we repeat for so long that they become part of the false identity we end up creating for ourselves.

The ceremonies will allow us to connect with our most authentic selves, and to abandon our predictable self, connected to the same old choices and behaviors, and to accept taking a step further into what is unknown or forgotten within us. To change a belief that has been rooted in our unconscious for years (or even a whole life), the only way to do it is to be able to see the lie in all these stories. The work that these plants will do is to illuminate everything that we do not see, giving us access to our most hidden or forgotten parts.

Thanks to the new awareness we will integrate during these ceremonies, our being will change, and the past, and that identity that used to make us suffer so much, will no longer exist.

Moreover, we will explore indigenous cultures and their ancient ways of connecting with the divine so that they can serve as a mirror for our reconnection to ourselves and Mother Earth.

The encounter with these ancestral cultures, still connected to the ancient wisdom of the Earth, will bring back in us that forgotten wisdom. The connection with a population that has not forgotten its roots and has kept alive the dialogue with the four elements is a pivotal part of this transformative retreat.

What are you waiting for?
Join me on this extraordinary 13-day journey and be inspired to contribute to the harmonization of our planet as you immerse yourself in the culture, nature, and spirituality of the Andes.

What are the main elements of this retreat?

Andean Cosmovision

The Andean Cosmovision is one of these traditions that does not share the foundation of modern Western society because it is mystical in its essence. Mysticism is the belief that words (including beliefs) are frameworks to connect directly with the underlying nature of reality and that this connection with the Sacred, not words or beliefs, is the only key to access the divine. In fact, the Andean Cosmovision does not place beliefs at the center, but the experience of reality that becomes possible with these beliefs, and it concerns the relationship with Nature and the Cosmos.

Meeting with Q'ero Master

Immerse yourself in the ancestral wisdom of the Andean Cosmovision, guided by professionals from the Quechua and Q’ero communities. Take part in an Andean despacho, a ceremony of offering to Mother Earth, led by a Q’ero Master, guardian of the spiritual tradition of the Incas. The ancestral traditions of the Q’ero are deeply rooted in their spirituality and their connection with nature. The Q’ero venerate the spirits of nature, called “apus” (mountains), and believe that everything in nature is alive and has a spirit, emphasizing the importance of living in harmony with these spirits. For this reason, they practice a series of ceremonies and rituals to honor the spirits of nature and seek protection, prosperity, and well-being. These rituals include offerings to the earth (known as “despacho”), purification and healing ceremonies, and rites of passage.

San Pedro Ceremony

  • The San Pedro (Huachuma or Wachuma in Quechua) is an ancestral sacred and medicinal cactus native to the Andes of Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador. Alongside tobacco, ayahuasca, and coca, it is one of the most sacred plants in Peru and has been used for over 4,000 years for prayer, connection with nature, access to the spiritual world, expansion of consciousness, and healing on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. Referred to as the “Grandfather” among sacred plants, Huachuma is considered a gentler teacher compared to “Mother Ayahuasca” but remains extremely powerful. Huachuma induces states of deep internal reflection, reconnecting us with ourselves, others, and Pachamama (Mother Earth), helping release past wounds, and opening our hearts to unconditional love for all living beings. Huachuma provides clarity, a deeper understanding of our purpose in life, and a TRUE comprehension of all that is.

This visionary medicine grants us powerful emotional and cognitive liberation and a strong mystical connection with the energies of the universe. Ayahuasca expands your consciousness and vision of the present, past, and future, to the extent that many who partake in it report experiencing feelings of unconditional divine love and a state of peace and harmony.

Ayahuasca

  • Ayahuasca is a healing brew from the Amazon that is believed to have been used for thousands of years by indigenous healers (curanderos) in the upper Amazon regions of Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, and Brazil. Called “Abuelita” (grandmother in Spanish) or Mother, the feminine spirit of the Amazon, Ayahuasca provides healing, introspection, and a profound connection with our inner selves. Although the specific effects are entirely unique to each person and each ceremony, in most cases, Ayahuasca takes you on a deep inner journey, opening your perception to a profound understanding of yourself, your life, your existence, your worldview, and your inner conditioning.

Mystical sites

Explore powerful archaeological sites in the Sacred Valley such as Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Moray, Chinchero, and Maras. Also, visit the extraordinary Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, to immerse yourself in the history of pre-Inca civilizations.

Immerse yourself with the local Andean community and the wisdom keepers

  • Connect with the local culture through a visit to Pacchanta and a trek on Mount Ausangate, where we will be accompanied by a Q’ero Master and hosted by a local community. We will also take advantage of the natural hot springs in this indigenous community

The Andean community of Pacchanta (a 3-hour drive from Pisac) is situated on the slopes of Mount “Ausangate,” at an elevation of 4400 meters above sea level. Surrounded by spectacular mountain landscapes and off the beaten path, you will experience how the local inhabitants live their lives, raising alpacas and cultivating native potatoes. They are skilled in textile craftsmanship, primarily using alpaca fiber to produce warm and colorful clothing. This experience will enrich your understanding of Andean culture. After lunch, we will spend the afternoon at the wonderful and soothing hot springs of Pacchanta, offering fantastic views of the sacred Apu Ausangate. Following a delicious dinner, we will be accommodated in a hotel within the local community.

Temazcal

Experience a profound purification in a Temazcal ceremony, a natural sauna inspired by ancient Mesoamerican cultures. This ceremony will last for two hours and aims for deep purification. It is said that at the end of the ceremony, participants feel reborn from the womb of Mother Earth. During the Temazcal, we will pass through four doors, each lasting about 30 minutes, and at each one, we will be called to reflect on our past and express present and future intentions.

Cacao ceremony and kirtan

  • Kirtan is a devotional music practice originating from India, involving the singing of mantras and spiritual songs in a group setting. The combination of cacao and kirtan creates an atmosphere of heart opening and vocal expression. Participants immerse themselves more deeply in the music thanks to the medicine of cacao.

TESTIMONIALS

I loved Francesca and the journey. I recommend everyone to go there at least once in their life. She took great care of our group, is fun, attentive, compassionate, and very passionate about what she does. It is absolutely magical to be able to walk in the mountains in places that can only be reached on foot or by horse and experience the culture and traditions of the Q’eros. Every part of the journey has a treasure to offer. I would go on another trip with her without hesitation

She is extremely knowledgeable and very attentive to her group. She is extremely positive and wonderful. I look forward to returning to Peru in the future, and she will undoubtedly be my guide again

We went to Pisac for a shamanic journey. Francesca was our guide and is now a dear friend. The trip was VERY well planned. Francesca was able to coordinate every detail before our arrival. The shamanic experiences with sacred plants were incredible. The curanderos and private guides were exactly what we were looking for. The Ayahuasca temple was absolutely beautiful. We would highly recommend Francesca to all our friends. Thank you, Francesca
ANTON HARB
My family and I recently returned from a fantastic trip to Peru, and the highlight of our journey was the visit to the Sacred Valley and Apu Ausangate, all beautifully orchestrated by Francesca. She took care of every detail, big and small, to ensure we had the best experience possible... and we did. Francesca connected us with wonderful local guides and with Don Vicente, a Q'ero master, who shared with us his beautiful family and the tradition of wisdom of his community. We spent three magical days learning from Don Vicente, from the mountain, the lakes, the rocks, and yes, even the snow. We returned home with a greatly strengthened sense of connection to our beautiful planet, with unforgettable memories, and with new wonderful friends we hope to see again in the near future. We'll be back as soon as possible.

I was fortunate to embark on a four-day trek in the magical Andean highlands. Describing the wonderful journey is challenging with words. The landscapes and views were unparalleled. Up high, where trees don't grow, life and nature shine brightly in the lands of the Q'ero, a beautiful and colorful tribe, genuine and friendly, strong and humble, simple and wise. Living well and happily in the high mountains among the Apus, the Q'ero share the land with the splendid alpacas and the imposing llamas. I would love to go back. Thank you, Francesca!
FELIX SAMUEL NACSON
As an Indigenous woman from Canada, I had the honor of participating in ancestral ceremonies in a Q'ero village and learned that the meaning of the teachings is similar to ours, such as love and care for Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the importance of balance inside and around us. Sometimes feelings of fear crept in due to my colonized mind, but with an open heart and mind, and trust in the process, my being felt warm and soft just like the fur of the 6000 alpacas surrounding us. I highly recommend this experience to anyone seeking the meaning of something much deeper. This adventure showed me the importance of the big picture and made me realize how small (but important) we are. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Francesca

YOUR GUIDE

Francesca

Originally from Italy, I now live in the enchanting Sacred Valley of Peru. Before moving here, I lived and worked in various other locations around the world, including Colombia, Tanzania, Kenya, Nepal, Guatemala, Mexico, and Ecuador. In my previous life, I was a humanitarian aid worker involved in various projects, specializing in emergency response and child protection.

Tony Robbins

After experiencing a spiritual crisis, I left the United Nations, and my travels led me to India in 2015 to study Eastern philosophy and practice meditation. Following my time in India, I traveled to Nepal to engage in relief work after the earthquake. During this period in Nepal, I continued my studies to deepen my spiritual practice and understanding.

One thing became increasingly clear during my travels – it was no longer possible to separate humanitarian work from spirituality. It was imperative that these two paths converged at some point so that I could embody everything I had learned during my journey. The quest for a more compassionate vocation in my life’s journey marked the beginning of the next chapter. I embarked on the Camino de Santiago, then traveled to South America, eventually landing in the Sacred Valley of Peru, where I first encountered the master plants Ayahuasca and San Pedro. In these sacred ceremonies, I experienced the deepest healing I had ever received. These plants had a profound impact on me, shaking off pre-existing notions about the world and making room for a new understanding and awareness of who I was.

I truly believe that these plants have the power to accelerate the awakening process, heal traumas, and help overcome fears. Accessing the wisdom of these plants has been an accelerated spiritual course, where a single ceremony was infinitely more potent than years of meditation in India and Nepal. Working with Ayahuasca and San Pedro has shown me that the two plants complement each other, with the former reconnecting us with our subconscious and the latter opening our hearts to other human beings and the nature around us. This experience has changed my life so profoundly that I chose to leave my previous path in international cooperation and decided to continue my journey in the Peruvian Andes, where my lifestyle is simple and follows the rhythms of nature.

Since then, I have been working with groups, assisting them in their awakening and reconnection with themselves in the Sacred Valley and the Amazon jungle.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS

No significant physical preparation is required before the trip because the trekking we will do on Mount Ausangate, despite offering incredible views of lakes and mountains, will be easy. However, what we need to consider is the altitude. The Cusco region is mountainous, and while the village of Pisac, where we will be staying for almost the entire duration of the retreat, is at an altitude of 2,990 meters, we will reach 4,000 meters when we go to Kinsacocha for our San Pedro ceremony or to Ausangate with our Q’ero Master.

For this reason, the initial days of the trip are designed for acclimatization. In fact, we will first visit Machu Picchu, which is located at a “mere” 2,400 meters. Additionally, we will drink plenty of water and coca tea to stay hydrated and avoid altitude sickness, known as “soroche.”

Preparation for the Huachuma ceremony plays a fundamental role in the quality of the experience. It is important to approach this moment with deep openness and a defined intention. Reflect on where you would like to go in your life and ask the medicine for guidance and the strength to act. At the same time, it’s important not to have expectations and remain energetically open to receive what the medicine has to offer.

For 1-3 days before the ceremony (at least 1 day; the more days of diet, the better), it is recommended to follow a predominantly vegetarian and light diet. Eat fresh and healthy foods, drink plenty of water, and avoid meat, processed or fatty foods, excessive sweets, strong spices, citrus fruits, alcohol, caffeine, and recreational drugs.

On the evening before the ceremony, a light dinner is recommended. On the day of the ceremony, it is advised to remain on an empty stomach and only consume a little water or herbal teas. In case of difficulties with low blood sugar, you can have a few pieces of papaya for breakfast.

The day after a Huachuma ceremony is a day of integration, where we will rest, meditate, and give ourselves some quiet time, preferably outdoors. The medicine continues to work unconsciously in the body in the following days. It is recommended to continue the diet for at least 1 or 2 days after the ceremony.

Huachuma does not have known contraindications.

If someone is taking antidepressants, they may experience reduced effects with Huachuma, and it would be advisable to suspend use several days before the ceremony.

However, to ensure the best care, please let us know during our initial contact if you are taking any medications or if you have any medical conditions.

Ayahuasca is the combination of the Quechua words “aya,” which means “soul,” and “huasca,” which means “vine.” Therefore, the name Ayahuasca can be interpreted as “the vine of the soul.”

The sacred Ayahuasca is a healing brew from the Amazon that is believed to have been used for thousands of years by indigenous healers (curanderos) in the upper Amazon in Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, and Brazil. There are over 40 other known names for this sacred medicine, including caapi, natema, mihi, and yage.

Unlike all other sacred plant medicines, the effects are achieved by the combination of two plants: the Ayahuasca vine (Banisteriopsis caapi) – a woody vine with a high concentration of alkaloids – and the leaf of the chacruna plant (Psychotria viridis). Both plants are harvested from the jungle to create a potent mixture that provides access to our subconscious and the realm beyond what we perceive with our five senses and in our ordinary state of consciousness.

Known as “Abuelita” (grandmother in Spanish) and the feminine spirit of the Amazon, Ayahuasca offers healing, introspection, and a deep connection with our inner selves.

While the specific effects are entirely unique to each person and each ceremony, in most cases, Ayahuasca takes you on a journey of deep reflection, opening your perception to a profound understanding of yourself, your life, your existence, your worldview, and your inner conditioning.

This visionary medicine can provide powerful emotional and cognitive liberation and a strong mystical connection with the energies of the universe. Ayahuasca expands consciousness and grants a vision of the present, past, and future. As it works on opening all chakras, many users report experiencing the feeling of unconditional divine love and a state of peace and harmony.

It is not uncommon for people to feel like they are dying during an Ayahuasca experience. If you feel like you are dying, it is actually the death of the ego you are experiencing because there is a part of you resisting and afraid to enter into places where you are egoless, eternal, and where the divine lives within you.

Often also referred to as “the Purge,” Ayahuasca has strong purifying effects. It purifies from heavy physical and emotional energies and heals deep wounds and scars of the heart, mind, and spirit through a powerful purgative process. The physical purging process can take various forms, such as vomiting, diarrhea, tremors, intense emotions, tears, yawning, etc. Thanks to this deep access it gives us to our inner selves, Ayahuasca alleviates stress and depression, transforms anger and suffering, and anything that hinders your evolution into love, compassion, happiness, balance, peace, and wisdom.

As Ayahuasca acts on all levels of our being, this medicine has proven to be very powerful in healing various illnesses of unknown origin.

Our Ayahuasca ceremonies last about five to eight hours and take place at night in a beautiful ceremonial building (maloca). Before the ceremony, we gather in a circle to share our intentions and prepare for this experience.

Participants are offered a small cup of the brew, and a second cup is given later in the night (if a stronger effect is desired). The effects vary from person to person but typically manifest within 30-40 minutes.

During the ceremony, participants’ journeys are guided by sacred songs sung by the ayahuasquero. These songs have specific healing intentions and serve to connect with the spirit world and dimensions beyond our conscious mind.

Most people experience visions during Ayahuasca ceremonies, and by expanding our consciousness, we can enter inner worlds not accessible in our everyday lives.

At the end of the ceremony, the ayahuasquero formally closes the event with a prayer, and at that point, we may have some fruit to eat and rest until the next morning.

In the morning, after waking up, each person is invited to reflect and briefly share their experience with the group, and we will have a sharing session to integrate the experience. The day following the ceremony is an integration day, and everyone is encouraged to rest, relax, and contemplate the new insights gained during the experience.

Just like our Huachuma ceremonies, we recommend mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically preparing for the Ayahuasca ceremony to reap the maximum benefits.

We encourage you to arrive with a clear intention and purpose for the ceremony, but at the same time, remain open and without expectations. Sometimes, Ayahuasca has something different to show you than what you initially intended to work on. Try to fully surrender to whatever experience Ayahuasca offers you, lowering the defenses of your ego and the fears that might block your entry into the complete experience. Trust that the medicine always knows better than you what you need in that moment. Take a deep breath, let go, and enjoy the journey back to the self.
